Sukhothai Historical Park to ban all motor vehicles in 2016

The Sukhothai Historical Park will launch a low-carbon project aimed at turning the world heritage site into a pollution free zone by banning all motor vehicles. Under the strategy of creating environmentally friendly historical parks in Thailand, motor vehicles, including cars and motorcycles, would be prohibited from entering the area. Instead, visitors are urged to ride a bicycle, walk or use an electric tram to visit the historical sites in the inner area. The low-carbon park project will be officially launched in early 2016.
